Kurt Vile's latest album, the Wakin on a Pretty Daze, is a hefty collection that contains 11 songs and lasts 69 minutes. Evidently the sessions for the record were extremely productive, since Vile has just announced plans to release an EP composed of seven outtakes. It's a big world out there (and I am scared) is due out on November 19 through Matador.

The EP will be released in 12-inch vinyl and digital formats. What's more, it will function as the bonus content for an expanded edition of the new album. Entitled Wakin on a Pretty Daze: Deluxe Daze (Post Haze), it will be released digitally and on double-CD, also on November 19.

The tracklist for the EP is below; as you can see, it includes a string synth version of "Never Run Away," while "Snowflakes Extended" is presumably an alternate take of "Snowflakes Are Dancing."

In other Vile news, he has shared a mixtape of some of his favourite tunes. Vile previously burned this mix for his bandmates, producer and friends before recording Wakin on a Pretty Daze. It includes songs by Tom Petty, Gary Numan, David Byrne, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Prince, Pink Floyd and many more. Stream it at the bottom of this page.

Vile is touring the U.S. and Europe in the coming months. See his schedule here.
