Kingston, ON Seeks Public Input on How to Honour the Tragically Hip

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 19, 2012

What's your primary association with Kingston, ON? If you answered the Tragically Hip, then we're on the same page. The Ontario city is clearly grateful for its most famous musical act, since it is currently seeking suggestions for how to pay tribute the band.

Following a public meeting last night (January 18), the city is considering renaming a section of Barrack Street (between King Street and Ontario Street) as Tragically Hip Way, or possibly naming a public asset in the North Block after the band.

If you've got strong opinions about the matter, you can vote on your favourite option or suggest your own at the City of Kingston website. We think "Road Apples" might be a better street name, but you've probably got your own ideas.

Suggestions for how to honour the group are due by January 20.

Thanks to AUX/Ottawa Citizen for the heads-up.
