Now that it's been out for well over a year, fans have finally had a chance to digest all of Joanna Newsom's triple-disc opus Have One on Me. This summer, the ambitious harp songstress will give us even more to sink our teeth into when she drops a one-sided twelve-inch featuring the track "What We Have Known."
Although the song will be unfamiliar to many, it actually isn't brand new. It was previously made available on the 2003 self-released EP Yarn and Glue, and a re-recorded version appeared on the 2004 single "Sprout and the Bean."
Listen to a live performance of the track in the video embedded below, or sample a small part of the single version over at Drag City's website. The label will release the twelve-inch on July 19. By the looks of things, there will be no B-side. Pre-order your copy here and check out the cover above.
In other Joanna Newsom news, she will soon appear on the live television series Austin City Limits. She's scheduled to tape her performance on August 1, with the PBS air date coming sometime after.
Thanks to Consequence of Sound for the tip.
