Jeen O'Brien is a member of Cookie Duster, and her resume includes credits working with the likes of Serena Ryder, Great Big Sea and Hawksley Workman. Now, she's looking to kick-start her solo career with Tourist, which will be out on July 8 under the mononym Jeen.
The album was self-produced by Jeen in her attic, with drum production from Stephan Szczesniak and mixing by Jared Keumper. Notably, Brendan Canning appears on the hushed, folksy "Industries" and Great Big Sea contribute to the peppy acoustic pop-rocker "Remind Me."
In addition these acoustic numbers, Tourist includes the crunchy rocker "Buena Vista," the electrified roots riffs of "No Fade" and the punchy hooks of "Way Up" before closing with the soft piano ballad "Orange."
