Heyrocco

'Teenage Movie Soundtrack' (album stream)

Charleston, SC-based trio Heyrocco are about to unleash their debut album Teenage Movie Soundtrack, but before it hits shelves later this week, Exclaim! is giving you an early listen to the whole thing.

The young three-piece is composed of childhood pals Nathan Merli, Christopher Cool and Tanner Cooper, who take their musical cues from guitar-driven '90s alt-rock. And the album's name doesn't lie — delivering a 10-song set of songs about "underage drinking, house parties, and first loves."

Pairing melodic garage rock with earnestly belted out lyrics about "making out to 98 degrees" ("Melt") and questionable fashion choices ("Mom Jeans"), the band are pretty spot-on with their interpretation of high school in the '90s — even though they were probably still crawling around in diapers at the time.

The record is a sweet surge of nostalgia for the days of house parties, awkward sex and general teen angst, and you can give it a spin in the player below.

Teenage Movie Soundtrack is officially out on July 10 via Dine Alone Records.
