Following a couple recent singles and some delays, Vancouver-based blues rockers Head of the Herd have given their sophomore album By This Time Tomorrow a solid October 22 release date through Universal Music Canada.
The album, which had initially been pegged for a June release, features the group's chart-topping single of the same name. You can sample the blues-and-Bud-fuelled song, featuring guest vocals from Mother Mother's Jasmin Parkin, down below.
The LP was recorded in two sessions, at a Vancouver studio producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Biffy Clyro) and in Toronto with Finger Eleven's Rick Jackett and James Black. The outcome is nine songs mixing bluesy influences with "the palpable energy of rock'n'roll."
A press release also promises "whiskey-infused vocals, a Southern edge, great stories and a touch of slide guitar," and a second guest spot from Parkin on "Don't Think You Will."
"For the album, we took those emotional, personal songs and injected the wild vigour that our live show is renowned for," vocalist-guitarist Neu Mannas said in a statement. "It's that feeling that we brought into the studio for this record, and put into everything from the kick drum to the written words."
