We haven't heard a whole lot from Gossip so far in 2013, and vocalist Beth Ditto has evidently been cutting loose in her time away from the stage, since she was arrested in Portland this weekend and charged with disorderly conduct.
According to a report by the Willamette Week, the singer was arrested for disruptive and allegedly drunken behaviour in the early hours of Saturday morning (March 16). She was at a drinking establishment called the Bungalo Bar and was apparently denied service due to inebriation. According to source who was at the scene, she "walked out in the middle of the street, threw off her shoes and purse and screamed OBAMA! OBAMA!"
The cops were on the scene after being called to apprehend a nearby graffiti suspect. According to the booking information from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, Ditto was arrested at around 1 a.m. local time and charged with a class B misdemeanour before being released without bail.
A court date is reportedly pending. Portland Mercury notes that she could potentially be charged with up $2,500 in fines and as much as six months in jail.
