The Game Sued for Allegedly Stealing Photo for Single Art

An ambitious rapper/designer is suing Compton hip-hop figure the Game for allegedly nicking the artwork to his recent "Ambitionz of a Rida" single without permission.

TMZ reports that Ariza Obey has filed a lawsuit against the Game claiming that the photo, of a balaclava-sporting couple embracing and holding golden pistols, is the property of Obey. He claims that the pic, which he titled "Ride or Die," first appeared on his Instagram page in September 2014. You'll find the original image down below.

The artist apparently believes a chain of events led to the Game's use of the image. Obey claims that the picture was later reposted by Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood's star Masika Kalysha, who is friends with singer Ray J, who is managed by Cash Jones, who also represents the Game.

Details on how much Obey is asking for in the lawsuit have not yet been made available. The Game has also not yet addressed the allegations.

The conditions of the case are similar to a recent lawsuit filed against Kendrick Lamar over the art supporting his To Pimp a Butterfly LP, where a photographer accused the rapper of misappropriating one of his images to promote album track "The Blacker the Berry." In that case, photographer Giordano Cipriani claimed that his photo "Twins," which pictured a woman breastfeeding infants, was used by Lamar without his consent.
