While Frank Turner is just about to put the shine on some covers and B-sides on his upcoming career-observing compilation The Third Three Years, the British folk punk reports that he's already about to start tracking some brand new tunes for an upcoming full-length release.

A recent blog post from the singer-songwriter had him explaining that he's heading to the studio at the start of December to begin recording the follow-up to 2013's Tape Deck Heart. Reportedly, there was some "behind-the-scenes confusion and plan-changing" before Turner locked down the December sessions, but the artist now reports "it's great that it's finally getting under way."

Flexing his writing skills in another fashion, Turner also reports that's he's finished the first draft of an upcoming set of memoirs about his life on the road. The as-yet-unnamed book has not been given an ETA, with Turner noting: "There's an editing process to go through yet, so we're not looking to release for a little while, but I'm relieved to have made it that far. Writing is hard."

As for The Third Three Years, the rarities collection lands November 25 through Xtra Mile. As previously reported, the set features reworked tracks and live material, as well as covers of Queen, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, the Weakerthans and more.
