So far this year, Toronto dance-pop outfit Dragonette have released a single and booked tour dates, but they had yet to officially announce their forthcoming third album. That has now changed, as the trio have confirmed the details of Bodyparts, due out September 25.
A press release suggests that the album will include some diverse styles, since descriptors include "mean guitar line," "club-worthy" and "melancholically beautiful soundscape." You can get a taste of these sounds by checking out the new tracks "The Right Woman," "Let It Go" and "Rocket Ship" at the bottom of the page.
To promote the forthcoming single "Untouchable," the band have launched a contest asking fans to write their own song using the lyrics alone (without hearing the band's version). The winning track will be used as a B-side on a future Dragonette single. Get details on the contest and its prizes here.
In the coming months, the band will play a slew of North American shows including a number of festival dates in Canada. See the schedule below.
