Delta Will

"Can't Do Without You" (Caribou cover) on Exclaim! TV

Delta Will frontman Charles Tilden told the Wavelength Music Festival team that he first discovered the music of Caribou in 2006 through a friend showing him The Milk of Human Kindness. That same year, watching a Caribou live performance changed Tilden's perspective on performing live. Though he admitted the idea of performing an entire set of Dan Snaith's music was daunting at first, the challenge was a welcome one.

We took in Delta Will's live tribute to the Dundas, Ontario native at this year's Wavelength Music Festival, where the band made sure to include a cover of "Can't Do Without You," a track taken from Caribou's latest critically acclaimed LP, Our Love.

After Tilden triggers the track's repeating Marvin Gaye vocal sample, the rhythm section and gentle keys begin to capitulate in a deep dance groove. Synth swells and a steady rhythm section drive the song forward into an even dancier finale full of roaring drum fills and even some cowbell.
