Delerium

"Ray"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Apr 8, 2015

Long-running Vancouver electronic act Delerium are ready to release a rarities and B-sides compilation later this month, but before it arrives, they've offered up new single "Ray."

Aptly titled Rarities & B-sides, the new collection features 11 previously unreleased tracks from a box of tapes circa the Chimera sessions, which were just recently discovered by engineer Greg Reely.

"Ray" captures Delerium's eclectic mix of Eastern, worldbeat, trance and ambient influences, and features vocals from Kristy Thirsk — who bandleader Bill Leeb describes as "one of the first defining singers for Delerium."

Hear her wistful croons atop Leeb's dark, experimental beats by listening to the premiere of "Ray" in the player below.

Rarities & B-sides is available April 21 via Nettwerk. You can pre-order it here
