Deerhoof

vs. CERN's Large Hadron Collider

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 18, 2015

San Francisco art rock act Deerhoof have always seemed a little out of this world, but they've taken things a step further by collaborating with a large hadron collider.

The group faced off against CERN's hadron collider, performing with magnets that are colder than the temperatures found in outer space.

"Musical curiosity is similar to scientific curiosity and, on a personal level, Deerhoof has inspired me as much as Einstein," CERN physicist Dr. James Beacham said in a press release. "They're explorers and this sense of exploration is what you feel in the air at CERN right now, and so the pairing of Deerhoof and CERN was natural."
