Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour is preparing to release his album Rattle That Lock, and having announced that the solo LP will be out on September 18 through Sony Music, he has now shared the title track.
The song is a unique mix of influences, as it contains a slinky funk groove that's overlaid with Asiatic woodwinds, and a faint hint of reggae rises to the surfaces in the couple of moments that the organ emphasizes the off-beats. While it doesn't sound all that much like classic Pink Floyd, the dramatic groups-sung refrains and cloud-scraping arena-rock guitar solo are sure to please fans of the Gilmour's band.
Hear it below. An official music video will be released in August.
