Following the recent release of Cult Leader's stunning Useless Animal EP, the Salt Lake City hardcore act have now announced the details behind their previously-teased debut LP. The collection is called Lightless Walk, and Deathwish Inc. puts it into retailers October 16.
As previously reported, the album was tracked earlier this year with producer Kurt Ballou (Converge) at his God City Studios in Salem, MA. While the band had delivered the Nothing for Us Here EP and 2014, and the three-song Useless Animal earlier this year, this marks the first official full-length release from Cult Leader.
There are 10 brand new tracks on Lightless Walk, as well as the act's "Gutter Gods," which had initially appeared on Useless Animal. The set is said to "unleash grinding musical fury," while tracks including "The Sorrower," "Sympathetic" and "Suffer Louder" apparently twist vocalist Anthony Lucero into a "pessimistic spiral."
Samples from the set have yet to be revealed, but you can stream the recent Useless Animal EP, which includes a cover of Mark Kozelek's "You Are Not My Blood," down below.
Cult Leader are also back out on the road this fall, with their North American tour routing bringing them to Toronto and Montreal in October. The show schedule can be seen beneath the tracklisting info for Lightless Walk.
