Crystal Castles

"Affection" (video)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 26, 2013

A press release describes Crystal Castles' video for "Affection" as an "abstract tour documentary," and sure enough, this is like no tour documentary we've ever seen.

The clip was filmed by various folks this spring in South America with the results edited together by video glitch artist Stephen Agnew. The results are every bit as dark and druggy as the synth-driven song itself, as we see close-ups of singer Alice Glass singing and looking dead-eyed, while her bandmate Ethan Kath skulks around the scene. Other shots show fireworks, a creepy masked figured and a shadowy jumble of colours and light.

"Affection" comes from (III), out now through Last Gang. See the band's upcoming tour schedule here.
