Cocteau Twins Treated to More Vinyl Reissues

4AD has announced more Cocteau Twins vinyl reissues are on the way. Come summer, we'll see new editions of the Scottish dream pop trio's Tiny Dynamine and Echoes in a Shallow Bay EPs, as well as their The Pink Opaque compilation.

Updated and modified vinyl pressings of these early records land July 17. As with 2014's represses of Blue Bell Knoll and Heaven or Las Vegas, these upcoming editions come remastered from the original tapes and are being delivered on 180-gram vinyl.

Tiny Dynamine and Echoes in a Shallow Bay had initially arrived as separate 12-inch EPs in November 1985, as well as a deluxe double LP. Having already been considered "companion pieces," and with both EPs featuring similar artwork, they are now being preserved as one piece of vinyl. The now eight-song Tiny Dynamine/Echoes in a Shallow Bay will also be fitted with reformatted artwork. Highlights, later showcased on the band's Stars and Topsoil collection, include "Pink Orange Red" and "Pale Clouded White."

The Pink Opaque was compendium from 1986 that culled tracks from early LPs and singles. Though 4AD had been releasing Cocteau Twins records since 1982, The Pink Opaque was the band's first official U.S. release and was produced in conjunction between the label and North American imprint Relativity. The compilation features classic tracks like Treasure's "Lorelei" and the "Pearly-Dewdrops' Drops" single, but also houses the exclusive cut "Millimillenary." The song is notable for being the first recording to feature multi-instrumentalist Simon Raymonde.
