The Chemical Brothers

"Go" (ft. Q-Tip) (video)

When the Chemical Brothers announced their new Born in Echoes LP a couple of weeks ago, they promised they'd soon be teasing a new single featuring A Tribe Called Quest rapper Q-Tip. True to their word, the electronic music outfit have now premiered their "Go" team-up with the Abstract in a well-choreographed, team skills-building video.

Directed by famed filmmaker and music video genius Michel Gondry, the off-kilter angles and colour scheme of the retro-futuristic visuals look like they could belong to an early '70s sci-fi flick. Scored by the pulsating electro wriggle of the Chemical Brothers, it finds a group of monochrome land-rowers undertaking a rigorous routine around a concrete jungle. Various spin moves and unified arm lifts are put on display, while an unseen Q-Tip delivers adrenaline-pumping lines about doing your best.

You can decide for yourself if it's a success by streaming it in the player down below.

Born in Echoes, which also finds the Chemical Brothers collaborating with St. Vincent and Beck, will be released July 17 via Virgin/Universal Music Canada.
