With Chance the Rapper having recently unveiled over Instagram that he and his girlfriend are expecting their first child, it seems more than fitting that the Chicago-bred hip-hop favourite has now announced the upcoming "Family Matters Tour."
Chancellor first teased the tour with a poster upload on Instagram yesterday (July 27), but has now revealed the proper tour routing. It kicks off October 11 in Austin, TX. While primarily focusing on U.S. crowds, there are Canadian shows booked in Toronto, or "Toranto," and Montreal.
As you'll note via the poster up above, there are a few as-yet unexplained asterisks scattered throughout the show info. Chance the Rapper notes that special guests will be revealed sometime soon.
As previously reported, Chance the Rapper also has an upcoming stop at Squamish, BC's Squamish Valley Music Festival. You'll find an updated itinerary down below.
In other news, Chance the Rapper recently revealed that his SoX partner Donnie Trumpet's Surf had almost included narration from Kanye West. Though this would have been "dope as shit," they ultimate axed the idea.
"Yah, he was going to narrate it at one point," Chance explained to the Guardian. "In the final weeks of getting ready to put it out we had vocal chops that we were using from 'Ye talking about some of the themes of the project. Through just thinking about it, it didn't end up happening that way. Not to say it wouldn't have been dope as shit!"
UPDATE: Chance has revealed over Twitter that his "Family Matters" tourmates will be D.R.A.M., Towkio, and Metro Boomin'. Australian outfit Hiatus Kaiyote will also appear on select dates.
