Chains of Love

'Strange Grey Days' (album stream)

In their brief career, Vancouver retro pop outfit Chains of Love have earned plenty of hype, and they're looking to keep the forward momentum going this month when they release their record Strange Grey Days on March 13 through Dine Alone Records. Before the release officially arrives on shelves, you can stream the whole thing at Exclaim.ca.

The seven-song collection offers more of what got this group noticed in the first place: fiery garage soul rave-ups and heady pop scorchers. While the band's sunny vocal harmonies and lo-fi wall of Phil Spector-esque sound recall a number of like-minded revival acts, it's the group's affection for churning psychedelia that makes them stand out from other blogged-about buzz bands.

Once the album is officially released, Chains of Love will hit the road in Canada for a lengthy tour with fellow Vancouver pop crew Said the Whale. See the tour schedule here and soak up Strange Grey Days below.
