Bonnaroo Co-Founder to Bring New HomeAway Festival to Toronto

Ontario music festival fans looking to get the Bonnaroo experience without having to head all the way down to Tennessee may have just had their prayers answered. Reason being, Bonnaroo co-founder and AC Entertainment president Ashley Capps has announced a new multi-day event set just outside Toronto called HomeAway.

News of the city's latest music festival was announced by Capps himself, who confirmed that, along with two other undetailed U.S. locations, he has plans to launch HomeAway in the Toronto area during the summer of 2015.

"We're working with great Toronto-based partners, Republic Live, and we're very, very excited about this," Capps told Knoxville News Sentinel [via Festival Snobs]. "It's an amazing site, and it, like Bonnaroo, will be a camping festival."

While the site in question has yet to be officially revealed, Festival Snobs points out that Republic Live recently signed an agreement with Stan Dunford, who runs Barrie, ON event site Burl's Creek. According to Dunford, the park is undergoing renovations to make it a "world-class facility," while a press release has re-billed the 700-acre location "Canada's largest outdoor festival venue."

Though the official dates have yet to be released, HomeAway will be added to a busy festival schedule that also includes TURF and the Arts & Crafts-sponsored Field Trip, among many others. Lollapalooza is also rumoured to be coming to Toronto next year.
