Experimental Edinburgh duo Black International are readying their sophomore LP for release later this fall, but before Lesson in Repression arrives, Exclaim! has got the premiere of the video for "A Fence to Keep People Out."
Stewart Allan (vocals, guitars, keyboards) and Craig Peebles (drums, percussion) teamed up with sound engineer Andrew Bush (the Twilight Sad) to make the new record in a Victorian manse-turned-studio. The new material aims to capture Black International's live energy, while allowing them to play with influences from across genres like electronica and post-rock.
"A Fence to Keep People Out" hears those influences melding with the band's indie rock foundations, while the video follows Allan and Peebles on a secretive late-night expedition. They navigate the roads and scout locations in the pitch dark before finally setting up for a musical finale. You can see it all go down in the player below.
Lesson in Repression is officially out on October 30 via Good Grief Records.
