Black Breath Announce 'Slaves Beyond Death'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 27, 2015

Pacific Northwest thrash crew Black Breath have finally set a street date for their next Kurt Ballou-produced full-length. The group's third LP is called Slaves Beyond Death, and Southern Lord slides it into retailers September 25.

The record, which follows the project's 2011 effort Sentenced to Life, is described as a "bleaker" look at the band. It's added that it puts the focus on "thrashing potency, reanimated hardcore muscle and icy death metal."

As previously reported, the album was recorded at Kurt Ballou's GodCity Studios in Salem, MA at the tail end of 2014. The eight-song set is said to run just shy of an hour, and apparently pits "ferocious riffs" against vocalist Neil McAdams' lyrics on "unending suffering in life and beyond the grave."

While previews from the metal platter have yet to go live, you'll find the tracklisting for Slaves Beyond Death down below. You'll find the cover art, which was prepped by Italian artist Paolo Girardi (Inquisition, Manilla Road, Bell Witch), up above.

Black Breath recently wrapped a batch of summer tour dates, but they'll be back on the road with Southern Lord labelmates Goatsnake, Battalion of Saints and Obliterations this September. There aren't any Canadian dates, but you'll find their show schedule below.
