Portland-based metal veterans Agalloch are due to drop their next full-length, The Serpent & the Sphere, later this spring, and the band will support their sixth full-length studio effort with a North American tour.
This week, the band revealed all the plans behind their "Serpens in Culmination" tour over on their Facebook page. While the act have a couple dates coming up next month, including a May 16 hometown show just three days after Profound Lore puts the platter in stores May 13, the tour proper doesn't begin until the middle of June.
The fuller part of their tour schedule has them mostly travelling through the U.S., but there are a trio of dates scheduled in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. Throughout the trip, Agalloch will be joined by fellow metal acts Obsidian Tongue, Vex and Jex Thoth. You'll find all of the details down below.
The group also report that a West Coast tour is in the works, but details on those dates haves not yet been revealed.
While Agalloch issued their mini-release Faustian Echoes in 2012, The Serpent & the Sphere is the band's first proper full-length since 2010's Marrow of the Spirit. The record was tracked with Billy Anderson at Cloud City Studios in Portland and is described taking the band's "progressive musical oeuvre to another level, all while maintaining the classic Agalloch sound."
