Last month, we learned that Jay Baruchel and Seann William Scott were set to bring back the loveable face-punching characters from their hockey comedy Goon with a new sequel. Today, more news on the film has emerged.
Though it was initially assumed that Michael Dowse would return to the director's chair, The Hollywood Reporter now says that Baruchel himself will helm the film. In addition to directing, he co-wrote the script with Jesse Chabot and will also co-star in the film.
THR also reports that the film has a new title. It's called Goon: The Last of the Enforcers. The film will see Scott's character Doug "the Thug" Glatt face-off with a host of other hockey players during a pro hockey lockout.
Production on The Last of the Enforcers is set to begin in June. The film will shoot in Toronto.
