Zombieland, Troubled Water and Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening Take the Lead in This Week's DVD Review Round-Up
Published Feb 03, 2010Another week, another rack of new releases to pick through. As always, Exclaim! brings you the most rentable DVD releases of the week. You can find all of these and lots more over at the Recently Reviewed section of Exclaim.ca.
Post-apocalyptic buddy comedy Zombieland is out on DVD, and stars Woody Harrelson as the film's trash-talking, snakeskin-wearing anti-hero. Troubled Water, directed by Erik Poppe, is also out, and bares a tale of love and atonement.
Our Exclaim!-recommended pick of the week is Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening, the hilariously funny comedy special in which Ansari jokes about text messaging while driving, harassing his family members on Facebook and, of course, Kanye West. With more laughs, Wanda Sykes: I'ma Be Me is an hour and a half of unapologetic political commentary from the woman who accused Rush Limbaugh of being a terrorist.
Bruce Willis takes another stab at popularizing the sci-fi genre in Surrogates, and in Whiteout Kate Beckensale hides from a madman on the loose in the cold, desolate wasteland of Antarctica.
Corbin Bleu (of High School Musical for those who excusably needed the reminder) stars as a teenaged motocross racer who must find a way to pay for his mother's hospital bills in Free Style, while Richard Gere and Hilary Swank star in Amelia, the story of Amelia Earhart.
And finally Don't You Forget About Me pays tribute to the late John Hughes, the man behind Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, just to name a few of his most memorable works of high school nostalgia.
