...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead Reveal New Tao of the Dead Studio LP
With a recording career that stretches back well over a decade, Texas rockers ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead have kept the new material coming at a steady pace, most recently releasing their sixth album, The Century of Self, back in 2009. Now, they're getting set to drop the follow-up, Tao of the Dead, on February 8.

According to a press release, "The new album pays faithful homage to Pink Floyd, Rush, Steppenwolf and Neu!" It was made with producer Chris "Frenchie" Smith, who worked with the group on their 1998 self-titled record. The band also enlisted the help of producer Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, Beach House) for the 15-minute cut "Tao of the Dead Part 2."

In a blog post written back in September, Trail of Dead frontman Conrad Keely said that the album would come with an accompanying comic book. He also promised that the 1998 eponymous album would be reissued soon

Ahead of the album, the Trail of Dead will release the single "Summer of All Dead Souls" on November 29. Look for them to tour Europe in March before returning to the U.S. in April. The dates haven't yet been confirmed and there's no word as to whether they will be coming to Canada.

Tao of the Dead will be released via Superball Music and the band's own Richter Scale Records.
