Yann Tiersen Books Canadian Dates for Spring Tour, Plots North American Release of 'Skyline'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 30, 2011

Yann Tiersen is best known for composing the score to Amélie, but he turned some heads in the indie music world when he teamed up with Anti- for an album back in 2010. Now, the experimental French composer is gearing up for a North American spring tour where he will be bringing another new album to our continent.

The outing will last for exactly a month from late April until late May. It will take Tiersen to both coasts of North America and includes three Canadian dates: Montreal on May 1, Toronto the day after, and Vancouver on May 9.

Along the way, he'll be promoting his latest album, Skyline, which came out overseas earlier this year via Mute. If you haven't had a chance to buy a copy yet, then fear not: Brooklyn Vegan reports that it will be out in North American in the spring, presumably just in time for this tour.

UPDATE: Skyline will be released via Anti- on April 17.

Scroll past the tour dates to check out the Skyline tracklist and hear the singles "Monuments" and "I'm Gonna Live Anyhow." The album cover is above.
