"Angels" (Live in Tokyo) (video)

Anticipation is building for the upcoming sophomore set Coexist from UK bedroom dark pop players the XX, and the tension builds even more with a new live performance of album track "Angels." Yes, we've already seen the song performed on Conan, but this latest video finds the trio taking a breather from some Japanese tour dates to play the tune in their Tokyo hotel room.

Well, technically, only Romy Madley-Croft tackles the tune, hushing romantic wordplay into a microphone while thumbing out notes on a Les Paul that lays slack on her lap. Jamie XX listens to the performance through a set of headphones, while Oliver Sim soaks in the song while curled up in bed.

You can peep the quaint and quiet performance down below.

As previously reported, Coexist arrives September 11 through Young Turks, and the band have North American dates lined up for the fall.
