WTF: Jack White Teams Up with Insane Clown Posse to Cover Mozart
Published Aug 31, 2011Jack White's done some wacky stuff in his career, from playing up that whole sister/wife angle in the White Stripes to releasing auctioneer records on his Third Man imprint, but this is some next-level shit right here.
The next planned release from the beloved rocker finds him teaming up with the Insane Clown Posse. That's right, the face-painted, Faygo-drinkin' crew that puts on the outrageous Gathering of the Juggalos music festival. It gets even better: the guys got together to put a new spin on a Mozart canon. For real.
A press release confirms that this is actually happening, explaining that White produced the duo's new single "Leck Mich Im Arsch," inspired by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 18th century composition of the same name. Jokey MCs Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J are joined on the track by JEFF the Brotherhood, who spread beefy rock riffs atop a bed of violins and classically trained vocalists.
Apparently, the twosome lost their mind once they realized the original's title literally translates to "lick me in the arse," and fittingly put together some, uh, cheeky verses.
For now, you can stream the song below, but White will be unleashing the track on seven-inch wax September 13. The flip will feature another track called "Mountain Girl," which is apparently "about a shotgun wedding, meth problems and moonshine."
