Wolf Parade Name New LP Expo 86, Expand North American Tour

Published Apr 2, 2010

Last month, we posted an interview with Wolf Parade singer/guitarist Dan Boeckner in which he revealed that the band had finished recording their third full-length album. The new material was laid down live to tape in a whirlwind session that lasted just two weeks, causing Boeckner to comment, "This is not a fussed-over computer record."

At the time, the record was still untitled. However, in a new interview with Pitchfork, Boeckner revealed that the record has since been named Expo 86 after the world's fair that took place in Vancouver 25 years ago.

Previously, the band were booked up until the end of May, including tours of both Eastern Canada and Europe. Now, the band will be touring the rest of North America starting in July, including a two-night stand in Montreal and five dates in Canada's western half.

Wolf Parade are currently on the road and have four more Canadian dates before they head across the Atlantic to begin their European jaunt. As Boeckner previously told us, these live audiences will be the first to preview the new songs.
