Thanks to his roles as Omar on The Wire and Chalky White on Boardwalk Empire (not to mention his underrated turn as an Illusionator on Human Giant), Michael K. Williams already has the sort of unquestionably cool resume that most actors would dream of. He just stepped up his game considerably, however, with the news that he's been cast to play Ol' Dirty Bastard in an upcoming biopic.

Pitchfork points to an Entertainment Weekly article confirming that Williams will take on the role of the fallen Wu-Tang legend in a film called Dirty White Boy. The flick is said to follow the relationship between ODB and his manager Jarred Weisfeld during the later years of the rapper's life.

While the film is not officially in production just yet, it will be directed by Joaquín Baca-Asay, who is best known as the cinematographer for Jay-Z's "99 Problems" video. The film has received approval from Weisfeld and ODB's mother Cherry Jones, so hopefully things will move along smoothly enough so that we can see this in theatres in the near future.
