Wilco Unveil New iPad Book, Spanish Language Single

Not unlike Great Lake Swimmers' recent score for One in a Thousand, alt-country greats Wilco are venturing into the world of e-books. They just released a new book called The Incredible Shrinking Tour of Chicago that is available exclusively through the iBookstore for iPad via the band's own dBpm Records.

The book, which is free, documents the band's five hometown shows from December 2011. As you'd expect from a musical e-book, it's a multimedia experience that includes what a press release describes as "beautiful live photography, images of posters created for each concert, set lists and more."

Perhaps most exciting is the fact that the book includes backstage videos from two of the shows. One is a rehearsal clip that shows Wilco playing the Band's "The Weight" along with Mavis Staples and Nick Lowe; the other is Wilco and Staples rehearsing "You Are Not Alone" (which Wilco's Jeff Tweedy wrote for Staples). Download it from the iBookstore.

In related Wilco news, the band recently re-recorded their song "Dawned on Me" in Spanish as "Me Avivé." Listen to it below or buy it from the iTunes store.

Wilco's upcoming tour schedule includes gigs in the U.S. in Europe but none in Canada. Check it out here.
