Just last week, guitarist Nels Cline hinted that a new album was on the way from Wilco. Now, they've proven that even alt-country bands can pull a Beyoncé and have released the album on their website.
The release is called Star Wars, and features 11 brand new Wilco jams. Best of all, it's absolutely free. All you've got to do is hand them your email address.
"Why release an album this way and why make it free?" Jeff Tweedy wrote on Facebook. "Well, the biggest reason, and I'm not sure we even need any others, is that it felt like it would be fun. What's more fun than a surprise?"
