Wilco Detail 20th Anniversary Rarities Box Set and Best-Of Compilation

Wilco had already announced plans to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a pair of compilations: one a best-of collection and the other a box set of rarities. Now, the alt-country lifers have shared the details of these archival releases, both of which will arrive on November 17 via Nonesuch.

The best-of is a 38-song collection called What's Your 20?, which is available digitally or in a two-CD package. It includes tracks from all of Wilco's studio albums, plus a couple from their Woody Guthrie-celebrating project Mermaid Avenue with Billy Bragg.

The tracklist can be seen below; it spans Wilco's discography chronologically, with the first disc covering up to 2000 and the second disc focusing on 2002's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and after.

The rarities set, meanwhile, is called Alpha Mike Foxtrot: Rare Tracks 1994–2014, and it's available in a whopping four-CD or four-LP set, as well as a digital bundle. It includes live tracks, demo cuts and rare recordings culled from throughout the group's career and features appearances from Feist, Fleet Foxes and Andrew Bird.

Both collations were produced by Cheryl Pawelski, who said this about Alpha Mike Foxtrot: "Like a lot of fans, I had collected these straggling tracks over the past two decades of following Wilco's every move. Alpha Mike Foxtrot includes almost every unique, essential performance that appeared on soundtracks, tribute albums and B-sides — and there are probably a few surprises for even the sharpest collector. This set presents an alternate history of the band, kind of a sideways view, and ultimately, it's a super-fun listening experience."

Both sets can be pre-ordered from Nonesuch's online store (and other online retailers). Pre-orders of Alpha Mike Foxtrot come with an instant download of the track "A Magazine Called Sunset."

Along with the new releases, Wilco will hold what's being called the Wilco Winterlude, a six-night residency at their hometown of Chicago's Riviera Theatre. Each night will feature a different setlist focusing on songs from different eras of the band's career.
