White Ash Falls Announce Sophomore Album, Get Louise Burns, Erin Passmore, Members of Yukon Blonde to Guest

Vancouver's White Ash Falls are set to return with the project's sophomore effort and second for Light Organ Records in as many years. As the follow-up to By the River Bend from 2012, Over the Night promises 10 new tracks that show a mix of "lush arrangements with soaring vocals" from the Andy Bishop-helmed group.

Due out November 5 and recorded at Hive Studios with producer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, the New Pornographers), the album will feature a similar live-off-the-floor feel as the band's debut, with its arrangements fleshed out by a cadre of notable collaborations, including Louise Burns, James Younger, Rah Rah's Erin Passmore, and Yukon Blonde's Brandon Scott, Graham Jones and Jeff Innes. Bishop, who honed his chops playing in Yukon Blonde, Twin River and Red Cedar, reportedly held off rehearsing with his band until days prior to the recording sessions.

"We tried to keep things on the record fresh and new," he explained in a statement. "There are a couple of songs we intentionally saved to write in the studio."

The album is available for pre-order now through the Light Organ website. For a sneak peak, check out the teaser video for "When She Rides" below, where you can also download the new album track "Running Scared."
