Westboro Baptist Church to Picket Foo Fighters Concert in Kansas City

The ultra-conservative, unseasonably tasteless Christian fundamentalists from the Westboro Baptist Church are currently shining their signs with maniacal glee as they prepare to picket a Foo Fighters concert in Kansas City, MO this month. On top of protesting soldiers' funerals and "slut walks," the Phelps family has protested rockers Ozzy Osbourne and Ronnie James Dio, among others, and now it looks as if Dave Grohl and co. are on the godhatesfags.com hit list.

A message posted on the Church's website explains that those heathen Foos have been working against God's word for years and influencing their fans to do the same. To take a stand against indecency, members of the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church will stand outside the Sprint Center on September 16, shaming all who enter the proverbial gates of hell.

"The entertainment industry is a microcosm of the people in this doomed nation: hard-hearted, hell-bound, and hedonistic," the Westboro statement reads. "These people have a platform and should be using it to encourage obedience to God; instead they teach every person who will listen all things contrary to him: fornication, adultery, idolatry, fags."

While the post doesn't point out any specific act, we're going to take an educated that the band's saucy dudes-in-the-nude shower clip for new single "Hot Buns" didn't score them any brownie points with the church

"The people in this nation have sinned away their day of grace and have so enraged their God that you are seeing new outpourings of His wrath continually. We will be there to remind you that the day of your destruction is upon you, even as you vainly seek comfort in the frivolities of this life," the statment continued. "Your doom is coming, america! Repent or Perish!"

Or, you know, enjoy the show. Whichever.

The Foo Fighters have yet to comment on the matter.
