Expect a wave of satirical, pop-exploiting polka party invites to arrive in 2017, as "Weird Al" Yankovic has announced a massive, career-spanning box set is due sometime next summer.
The details are still developing behind the release, but accordion genius Yankovic recently delivered news of his Squeeze Box over social media.
UPDATE (1/12, 3 p.m. EST): The box set is now due out on November 24, and you can learn all about it on its PledgeMusic campaign over here, where you can also order the box.
The colossal compendium will be delivered on LP, CD and digitally, and comprise 15 albums' worth of material. This means new pressings of all of Yankovic's 14 full-length releases, from his 1983 self-titled debut up to 2014's Mandatory Fun.
Though the exact contents are as yet unknown, a 15th album will be filled with bonus rarities. Dare you be stupid enough to dream it, this could mean fans may finally own a non-bootleg version of concert favourite "Chicken Pot Pie" (a.k.a. Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die"), XXX oldie "If I Could Make Love to a Bottle" (a.k.a. Jim Croce's "If I Could Keep Time in a Bottle") and a physical copy of "Perform This Way" (a.k.a. Lady Gaga's "Born This Way").
Each album is being remastered for Squeeze Box and will be housed in a replica of the artist's well-worn accordion. Additionally, the release will come with a 100-page book featuring photos from the vaults.
A due date has not been formally announced, but you can play your very own Squeeze Box sometime in the summer 2017.
