The Week in Comments: Exclaim!'s Reader Feedback Roundup with Das Racist, Paul McCartney, Teenage Kicks and the Worst Album Covers of 2012

Exclaim! readers always have plenty to say on posts from every section of the website. Here are some of the highlights of what they have recently been talking about.

This weekend New York rap crew Das Racist called it quits. Commenter Nips McGee said, "Good riddance." Matt Day was disappointed at first saying, "TOO BAD! They added a cool/silly vibe that was great for the rap scene!" but then later on added, "Well maybe it's a good thing if they were bored and just keeping it together for the money, as Dapwell claims…"

Exclaim! kicked off our 2012 in Lists coverage this week, starting with the Top 10 Worst Album Covers of 2012. As could be expected, the inclusion of covers by much-loved artists like Spiritualized, Death Grips and Grimes ruffled a few feathers. Ken said, "It's worth nothing that Jason Pierce went with that basic design because it was best suited for the tiny frame on mp3 player screens. As for Grimes, you guys are wrong! That album cover is awesome, adds a layer of quasi-metal mystery to the fabulous album!"

KD also did not agree with the list, saying, "Worst list of worst album covers… these aren't even THAT bad. It seems like you went into a chain music store in the mall, looked at the 'employee recommendations' and made a list of 10 from there. 'No Love Deep Web' should not be on this list."

It should be noted that when last we checked, mall-locked chain music stores didn't carry digital-only albums, especially ones with erect penises on the cover.

In concerts, Paul McCartney played BC Place in Vancouver last week. Readers expressed their enjoyment of the show. Leanne said, "The concert was AMAZING once in a lifetime :D." Robert added, "I have had the joy of seeing Paul a number of times, most recently in Toronto in August 2010 (both nights) and Montreal in July of 2011 (exactly a year to the night before his Olympic appearance). It is always a thrill of a lifetime — the guy is a marvel and long may he rock and reign!"

Lastly, Teenage Kicks released a live video from their show at Toronto's Lee's Palace in October. Commander Clark started a comment war with, "Thought they were gonna break up! After watching this I hope they do!" Shay fired back with, "You're a dick Commander Clark," leading Clark to admit, "Yeah I am a dick but it's only 'cause I'm jealous. I don't think I'll every be opening for the Arkells or the Tragically Hip in the future like these guys will be."
