WEARENOTWHOWEARE

"Empty Rooms"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 30, 2015

Formed in Toronto a couple years back by members of Still Life Still, Teen Tits Wild Wives, Gold Pony and EQ, WEARENOTWHOWEARE bring together an eclectic mix of influences and electronic sounds. Earlier this year, they made their live debut after honing their dreamy soundscapes into a configuration that works on stage. Now, they're ready to unveil some new recorded material before a couple of upcoming shows and Exclaim! has got your first listen to new track "Empty Rooms."

The band's debut EP is expected out later this year, and if "Empty Rooms" is any indication of the rest of the record, it's going to be a dreamy affair. Blending together synthesizers, samplers and all four members on vocals, the group build subtle, intricate layers of sound into bouncy bedroom pop.

You can see them recreate the music live at a couple of upcoming shows, which are listed below. For now, though, scroll past the concert dates and hit play to let the smooth sounds of "Empty Rooms" wash over you.
