We Are the City

"Kiss Me, Honey"

BC trio We Are the City recently capped their live-streamed recording sessions and formally announced their next LP, Above Club. The record officially lands by the end of next week, but the prog-flirting indie pop outfit have just revealed the latest sensuous sample from the set, "Kiss Me, Honey." You can let it smooch your ears through an online stream.

Following the tropi-pop swerve of "Keep on Dancing," this latest We Are the City songs hits big with with a rush of guitars, boulder-crash drums and sky-bound synth melodies. The vocals are handled softly, via a shushed falsetto, but they cut to the bone with a mix of smarm ("you should have married a rich wife") and wistfulness.

You can hear a radio edit of the track down below, courtesy of Line of Best Fit. Boompa puts Above Club in Canadian retailers November 13, while the U.S. edition lands via Tooth & Nail.
