Waxahatchee to Preview New Material on North American Fall Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 18, 2014

Last year, lo-fi songwriter Waxahatchee had a big year thanks to the success of her album Cerulean Salt, and the singer otherwise known as Katie Crutchfield isn't wasting any time in prepping the follow-up. She has just announced a fall North American tour where she will be previewing material from her next LP.

This intimate solo outing will feature material from Waxahatchee's two prior albums, in addition to never-before-heard tunes. Most of the dates are in November, and this includes a handful of U.S. gigs, plus Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal.

The schedule is below.

Crutchfield had this to say in a statement about the trek: "I'm really looking forward to my upcoming tour this fall. I'm planning on playing songs from both my albums as well as songs from a new album I just finished recording. I'll also be playing solo, which I'm really excited about. We chose most of the venues specifically because they're more conducive to a more intimate type of performance. When I first started playing these songs I only toured solo and it's always so gratifying for me to perform that way again."

There's no word as to exactly when Waxahatchee's next album will drop, but given that it's already recorded, it presumably won't be too long.
