Katie Crutchfield penned a five-song EP for the series

Waxahatchee wrote some original tunes for Apple TV+'s upcoming animated children's show El Deafo — based on the popular graphic novel by Cece Bell — and today we get to hear the poppy, inspirational "Tomorrow."

Waxahatchee is very good at writing songs, and while "Tomorrow" is a little more paint-by-numbers than her typical output, it's still an unsurprisingly intelligent and uplifting piece of music.

Katie Crutchfield wrote a whole EP of songs for the series, which includes the main title theme called "Up in the Sky," plus "Trampoline Love Song" and "Mighty Bolt." The five-song soundtrack arrives January 7 on Merge Records

Waxahatchee's last record was 2020's Saint Cloud, and she'll be touring the record throughout 2022, including a run of shows with HAIM

Listen to "Tomorrow" and see the El Deafo tracklist below.
