Wavves Prepping New Album for Summer Release

San Diego-based lo-fi fuzz rockers Wavves have remained in our minds for sometime, although maybe not for the best reasons. When they're not having drug-addled meltdowns, they're busy fighting with the Black Lips and swiping band members from Jay Reatard and Hella. It's at the point where we know who Wavves are, but are beginning to forget the music that got us into them in the first place. Hopefully that will change this summer, as Wavves main dude Nathan Williams has announced that the band have completed recording their third album.

In a brief blog post, he announced a last-minute April 11 Wavves show and quickly added that the new album is in its final stages. "We also finished recording a record in Oxford, Mississippi and are currently mixing."

While details are scarce, William's added that the album will be out this summer, and that former Jay Reatard rhythm section Stephen Pope and Billy Hayes are still his band-mates. As for the record's feel, Williams insisted that it "SOUNDS CARAAAZAAAAAAYYY."
