Watch Guests at a Nigerian Wedding Lose Their Minds to System of a Down's "Toxicity"

Serj Tankian approves

Whoever said wedding music had to be boring? A wedding party in Nigeria certainly took liberties with their special evening's soundtrack recently, as seen in a new clip of a party losing their collective minds to System of a Down's iconic 2001 track "Toxicity."

By some twist of fate, frontman Serj Tankian caught wind of the viral moment this weekend — and much like anyone else who has seen the clip, he approves. The video, which Tankian described as "simply awesome" on Saturday (June 20), sees about 30 or so wedding guests in full formal garb — including the bride — rocking out while shouting "Disorder! Disorder!" over the track.

Apparently Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello also approves, according to another tweet from this weekend in which he wrote, "There's hope!!"

The title track from System of a Down's early-aughts album remains one of the highest-streamed songs on their Spotify profile, second only to Toxicity's "Chop Suey!" No word on whether or not the wedding party also included that track on their playlist.

Watch the viral clip below, where you can also revisit the official music video from back in the day.
