The 88th annual Academy Awards took place tonight (February 28), and among the many memorable monologue moments and winners were some solid musical performances.
The Weeknd took the stage to perform his 50 Shades of Gray sex jam "Earned It."
Lady Gaga took a more sombre route, performing her song "'Til It Happens to You," from the campus sexual assault documentary The Hunting Ground. She dedicated her performance to Kesha, and invited sexual assault survivors onstage with her.
Elsewhere, Dave Grohl offered up a performance of the Beatles' "Blackbird" for the "In Memorium" sequence, and Sam Smith did his Best Original Song-winning Bond theme, "Writing's on the Wall."
