Watch Taylor Swift's Surprise Performance for Jimmy Fallon

She played "New Years' Day" on the TV host's first day back behind 'The Tonight Show' desk

Last night (November 13) marked Jimmy Fallon's first night back at The Tonight Show after the death of his mother, and he returned with a particularly special guest.

Fresh off her musical guest duties at Saturday Night Live over the weekend, Taylor Swift delivered a surprise performance for Fallon's audience. She played Reputation album closer "New Year's Day" — the most sombre but also the prettiest song on the record — and it ended with a very emotional hug between the singer and host.

You can read a heartwarming story about her visit to the set via writer/producer Mike DiCenzo over here.

Swift will be taking her new album on a massive stadium tour next year, but for now, check out her stripped-down appearance on The Tonight Show below. You can order Reputation on CD and double picture disc vinyl via Umusic.
