PUP played their biggest hometown headlining show to date last night (July 21) at Toronto's Echo Beach, and during the set, the band paid homage to some Canadian rock greats that came before them — the Weakerthans.
Despite their band name making them sound like dog people, PUP opted to cover "Plea from a Cat Named Virtute."
The Reconstruction Site track proved popular with the Cancon-familiar crowd. See some of the fan-shot footage of the Weakerthans cover below.
PUP released their latest original music with Morbid Stuff earlier this year. It was recently announced as one of 10 finalists on the 2019 Polaris Music Prize shortlist.
