Performing for Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble, dozens of Canadian artists came together last night (April 26) for a livestream COVID-19 benefit, billed as the largest single-show broadcast in Canadian history. Among the highlights was a massive Bill Withers singalong.
Dozens of Canadian musicians participated in a cover of the late songwriter's 1972 classic, "Lean on Me," including Bryan Adams, Jann Arden, Michael Bublé, Avril Lavigne, Geddy Lee, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Single Bad Child, Justin Bieber, Command Sisters, Desiire, Fefe Dobson, Jules Halpern, Scott Helman, Shawn Hook, Ryland James, Dan Kanter, Olivia Lunny, Marie-Mai, Sarah McLachlan, Johnny Orlando, Josh Ramsay, Serena Ryder, Tyler Shaw, the Tenors, TIKA, Walk Off the Earth and Donovan Woods.
Also, keep an eye out for appearances by other notable Canadians like David Suzuki, Trailer Park Boys' Mike Smith and Robb Wells, George Stroumboulopoulos, as well as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and many others.
All proceeds from the single will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross to help fight COVID-19 in Canada. If you missed the performance, but still want to donate, head to the ArtistsCAN website.

Stronger Together was held in support of Food Banks Canada's $150 million campaign to "help ensure that food banks can continue their critical work" during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bill Withers passed away earlier this month. He was 81.
