Father John Misty Expands North American Tour, Performs on 'Colbert'

He's added additional shows in Toronto and Winnipeg

Father John Misty is mere days away from finally unleashing Pure Comedy, and ahead of the record's release, the singer-songwriter born Josh Tillman has added some additional tour dates and made his return to television.

He's expanded his upcoming live itinerary to include a show at Winnipeg's Interstellar Rodeo on August 18, as well as another stop in Toronto, where he'll play Massey Hall on September 18. Those shows follow previously announced gigs in Toronto and Burnaby next month, as well as an appearance at Osheaga in Montreal in August.

You can see the complete list of upcoming Father John Misty shows down below.

UPDATE (4/12, 1 p.m. EDT): The Burnaby show has now been moved to the Malkin Bowl in Vancouver's Stanley Park. All original tickets bought will remain valid.

Before you catch him live onstage, though, you can see Tillman take the studio stage at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Last night (April 4), he delivered a live rendition of "Ballad of the Dying Man," marking his North American TV follow-up to a gig on Saturday Night Live last month.

Since creating waves with his Taylor Swift-referencing SNL performance of "Total Entertainment Forever," Tillman has also been interviewed by Elton John, revealed a reliance on daily doses of LSD and, of course, graced the cover of Exclaim!'s April issue.

Tillman's appearance on Colbert went off without any major controversy, and you can watch him perform his tune about an obsessive online commenter on the verge of death down below.

Pure Comedy is out this Friday (April 7) via Sub Pop.
